SOUTHGATE YOUTH
SOCCER CLUB
2008 SOCCER SEASON VOLUME 3, April 2008
Letter from your Board:
Our 2008 soccer season is about to begin! We are looking forward to an exciting soccer season. Your Board members have all been working and planning since January to make this the best season ever.
Our Southgate uniforms were a big hit last season, and we will be using the same design this season. As always, and unlike some other clubs, Southgate’s registration includes the cost of the uniform, which includes the uniform shirt, shorts and knee socks. For the price of registration, your soccer player will also receive a trophy and pictures at the conclusion of the season.
We hope that you will join our volunteer staff to ensure that your player’s soccer experience is the best it can possibly be. We always need coaches and referees, and we can provide you with information on coach and referee clinics. Referees are paid positions. We have a number of unfilled Board vacancies, and are always grateful for any time you can give to help our Club run smoothly.
This year we will again be requiring a contact person from each team formed, so that we can keep the entire Club better informed. The role of Team Parent is crucial to a well-organized Club, and it requires little additional time beyond that which you already give in taking your child to and from practices and attending games. Remember that you, too, are essential in providing your player with a positive soccer experience. We hope to see much more interaction among our parents this year, and a much greater attendance at all our soccer functions. Each team’s contact person will afford us the opportunity to keep everyone in the Club informed and involved.
